Fifteen registered boat entries and a couple of non-registered boats participated in the parade with partly cloudy skies threatening to rain (but never did), comfortable temperature and a light breeze. The parade was escorted down the canal by the U. S. Coast Guard and the Lewes Fire Boat followed the last boat in the parade. This year’s Honorary Grand Marshal was Dr. Nancy Target, riding on the University of Delaware’s Research Vessel Joanne Daiber. Large number of spectators lined the banks of the canal, City Dock, Canalfront Park, the canal bridge and the numerous waterfront restaurants.
