2017 Bear Trap Dunes Pink Classic at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club
On June 5, 2017, the Women’s Golf Association of Bear Trap Dunes will be ushering in a new decade of giving by celebrating its 11 year of supporting breast cancer awareness through its charity tournament, The Dunes Pink Classic. Since 2011, we have partnered with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) so that all funds would be kept locally in Sussex County.
The Dunes Pink Classic is DBCC’s largest single volunteer fund-raising event. Since the inception of our partnership, the tournament has donated over $236,000 because of the generosity and support of businesses, individuals and volunteers. ALL money donated by our sponsors goes directly to DBCC’s efforts in Sussex County.
This year, the DBCC is honored and grateful to receive a leadership gift from Mark Dillon, a son of Dr. Donald E. Dillon of Bear Trap Dunes, in honor of his mother, Patricia Shea Dillon. This gift will launch a program for children of Sussex County whose parent is undergoing breast cancer treatment. Cancer touches the entire family. The program will inspire others to help children cope with the challenges and stress of cancer diagnosis and treatment. In recognition of this gift, the DPC is naming The Family of Dr. Donald E. Dillon, in Memory of Patricia S. Dillon our honorary tournament chairs this year.
Registration Opens April 1, 2017 and is limited to 140 Women Golfers
