2018 Summer Concert Series at Stango Park
The City of Lewes is excited to present twelve great bands for the summer concert series in Stango Park for 2018. Every Tuesday evening from June 12 to August 28, there will be a free concert starting at 7:00 p.m. on the open air stage in Stango Park next to the Lewes library.
The concerts' rain location will be in Cape Henlopen High School auditorium. Also, the final concert of the season on August 28th, the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters performance, will be held in the Cape Henlopen High School auditorium regardless of weather.
The 2018 summer concert series lineup is sponsored by the City of Lewes, WSFS Bank, and by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware art events on www.DelawareScene.com.
The 2018 lineup includes more favorites and new bands that cover a range of musical styles and genres including;
July 10 Jean Therapy - Fronted by cross-over vocalist Jean Lenke, the Philadelphia based Jean Therapy Band is an eclectic cover band playing an interesting mix of jazz-rock & Latin fusion, primarilyfrom the 60's and 70's. The band celebrates the sophistication of master musicians like Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Joni Mitchell, Sergio Mendez and other great vocalists of the period with their own modern interpretations of classic Fusion music. Slightly off center, yet hauntingly familiar, this unique cover band's repertoire is as unexpected ass it is fun!
July 17 Glass Onion
July 24 Vinyl Shockley
July 31 The British Invasion Experience
August 7 Chesapeake Brass Band
August 14 Free Range
August 21 Conley & Watson
August 28 U.S. Navy Band – Sea Chanters (Performance will be in Cape Henlopen High School regardless of weather).
Concerts are free and provide a family friendly event with diverse music options. All are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, snacks, and their dancing shoes. In case of inclement weather concerts will be moved to Cape Henlopen high school. Information about concert schedule and bands can be found on the Lewes parks and recreation website, Lewes parks and recreation Facebook page, or by picking up a concert brochure at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce.
