2018 Summer Concert Series ~ Tonight's Vinyl Shockley Summer Concert will be held in the Cape Henlopen High School Auditorium due to high chance of rain!
The City of Lewes is excited to present twelve great bands for the summer concert series in Stango Park for 2018. Every Tuesday evening from June 12 to August 28, there will be a free concert starting at 7:00 p.m. on the open air stage in Stango Park next to the Lewes library.
Note that in the event of rain, the concerts will be held in Cape Henlopen High School auditorium. The final concert of the season, the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters performance will be held in the Cape Henlopen High School auditorium regardless of weather.
The 2018 summer concert series lineup is sponsored by the City of Lewes, WSFS Bank, and by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware art events on www.DelawareScene.com.
The 2018 lineup includes more favorites and new bands that cover a range of musical styles and genres including;
July 24 Vinyl Shockley - The musical vehicle for Ed Shockley's songwriting, Vinyl Shockley is a six piece band that plays original music inspired by the rhythm and blues of the 50's, 60's and 70's that came out of Memphis, Muscle Shoals and New Orleans, Ed Shockley was headed in that direction out of the 80's, even before the genre had th name "Americana". He had been writing songs that didn't fit into anything else anyone was doing at the time. Vinyl Shockley music is a retro balancing act, writing fresh new songs and adding crisp, live-in-the-studio production to revisit the 60's and 70's.

August 21 Conley & Watson
August 28 U.S. Navy Band – Sea Chanters (Performance will be in Cape Henlopen High School regardless of weather).
Concerts are free and provide a family friendly event with diverse music options. All are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, snacks, and their dancing shoes. In case of inclement weather concerts will be moved to Cape Henlopen high school.
