After Hours at the Zwaanendael Club:
Meet the Artist, Siobhan Duggan, Thursday August 31
Meet the artist! Join us for an after-hours reception at the Lewes Historical Society's Museum Shop located at 302 Savannah Road, at the corner of West Third Stree, across from the Zwaanendael Museum, to meet local artist Siobhan Duggan. Thursday, August 31st from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
The Lewes Historical Society Museum Shop has a wonderful book selection, Lewes themed merchandise, and great items for special occasion gifts.
The Lewes Historical Society Museum Shop features a changing selection of works by local artisans. It currently has on display several works of art by Siobhan Duggan including signed limited edition prints, note cards, and tote bags. Her work features landscapes of Southern Delaware and historic buildings from the Lewes Historical Society's collection. Light refreshments will be served at the event which is free and open to the public.
Siobhan's current work of Plein Air painting with pastels merge her two favorite worlds of nature and art. Siobhan is a 2017 grant recipient for her project "Drawing in Plein Sight" supported in part, by the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
Siobhan began taking art classes at the age of five from a neighbor, and from that point she has never stopped creating. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from State University of New York at Purchase and a Masters of Art in Teaching from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Siobhan taught in public and private schools in New York for 10 years. Siobhan holds art teaching certificates with the State of Delaware and State of New York. Siobhan moved to the Rehoboth Beach area with her husband and fellow artist/educator; Brendan Pulver, and their emerging-artist son.
