September 13th, 2017 - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

CHEER's Military Honor Day and the 16th annual Patriot Day Observance on
Wednesday, September 13 will be a day of military exhibits and remembrances to
honor the men and women who served in the U.S. military forces.

The event will feature dozens of educational displays highlighting historic military events. Many local schools will bring their students in order to give them the opportunity to learn about our military history, and to have the ability to speak one-on-one with men and women who fought in U.S. wars and conflicts.

Several interesting veterans will be at CHEER's Military Honor Day and 16th annual Patriot Day Observance sharing their memories with guests. There will also be dozens of educational displays highlighting events such as Pearl Harbor, Normandy Beach, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and conflicts to the present that have occurred, including the Cold War, Grenada, Iraq, and Afghanistan. There will also be a special memorial service for the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom.

Activities will take place at the Warren L. and Charles C. Allen, Jr. CHEER Community Center located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Route 9, east of Georgetown. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and admission is free to the public.
