Creating Romeo and Juliet with Sally Boyett
Romeo and Juliet’s Producing Artistic Director, Helen-Hayes Award Nominated Sally Boyett, takes participants on an interactive, exploratory journey through her artistic process in seasonal Shakespearean piece selection, textual adaptation, period placement, rehearsals, production, and making the transition from stage to screen.
The Poet and the Actor: How Shakespeare Informs and Challenges Actors
Led by Donald Hicken, CTM’s Tony-Nominated and Helen-Hayes Award Winning Board Chair. This participatory session focuses on two types of challenges Shakespeare makes with his character portraits and his poetic dialogue. Two speeches from Romeo and Juliet will be examined for the unique tasks they present to actors interpreting the roles of Lord Capulet and Mercutio.
Romeo and Juliet: Prologue and Epilogue with Nancy Krebs
CTM’s Resident Vocal Coach and Actress-in-Residence, one of a handful Master Lessac Teachers in the world, Nancy Krebs (SAG-AFTRA), takes participants through Romeo and Juliet’s Prologue and Epilogue, with particular attention to voice and character.
These programs are partially funded by a grant from the Delaware Humanities, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
