Opening at the Cinema Art Theater
Starting on November 18, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “The Climb,” a wonderful comedy-drama that is a shrewd portrayal of male companionship.
A story of a tumultuous but enduring camaraderie between two men across many years of laughter, heartbreak and rage. It is based on real-life best friends Mike and Kyle who share a love of biking and almost have a collapse of friendship after Mike sleeps with Kyle’s fiancé. They turn their profound connection into a rich, humane and frequently uproarious film about the boundaries in all close relationships. [2020, USA, 98 min, Rated: R].
Nick Allan of “RogerEbert.com” writes “‘Thrilling and charming in a way that very few comedies ever are.” Robert Kojder of Flickering Myth says, “A window into seven key life points dramatically affecting the friendship in one authentically hilarious way or another, from ice-fishing bachelor parties to chaotic holiday gatherings.”
Screening times are 5 pm on Wed (Nov 18) and 3 pm on Thu (Nov 19). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online at www.rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
