Amos Fayette in Concert
Wednesday, August 8, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware
Lewes, Delaware 19958
This concert features a local artist/violinist, Amos Fayette, whose background and experience is quite impressive! He is currently the Milford Branch Director for the Music School of Delaware. A quick review of his bio shows education at Peabody Conservatory and The Juilliard School; a New World Symphony Fellow; a student at the Manhattan School of Music; and a concertmaster at multiple venues. He recently appeared with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, two places in France as well as locally in Dover. He has occasionally served as Principal Second Violin of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and as concertmaster under Michael Francis, James Conlon, Michael Tilson Thomas and Andrés Orozco-Estrada. And, he has performed as a soloist with the New World Symphony, Mid-Atlantic Symphony, Orquesta Filarmonica de Medellin (Colombia), Peabody Camerata, Kammergild Chamber Orchestra, and many others.
The piano accompanist originally scheduled for this event has a family obligation that must be honored. Mr. Fayette has been able to commission Ms. Lotus Cheng, award-winning faculty member at the Music School of Delaware, to accompany him for this performance. Consequently, the program published in the July newsletter will be replaced by "Suite Populaire" by Manuel de Falla, "Sonata in E Minor" by Wolfgang Mozart, “Sonata No. 3" by Edvard Grieg, and "Estrellita” by Manuel Ponce, arranged by Jascha Heifitz.
