Community Wellness Lecture Series at Excellens Physical Therapy
Ever heard of pelvic health physical therapy? What are pelvic floor muscles? Did you know that there are physical therapists who specialize in treating pregnant and post-partum women? How about physical therapy for constipation? Join us every other Thursday as we answer these questions and demystify pelvic and abdominal physical therapy. We will discuss anatomy, physiology, common issues and conditions that are treatable through PT, and what to expect at physical therapy appointments. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and meet one of our pelvic floor therapists. Refreshments will be provided!
April 11th 5:30-6:30 pm - Pregnancy: A “Motherload: of Symptoms- How PT can help you through a pain-free pregnancy and recover from childbirth
Pregnancy doesn’t need to be uncomfortable, and the solution is not to just ride it out until the baby is born. Learn about how PT can help make your pregnancy more comfortable, and resolve pregnancy and post-partum related issues like pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, urinary incontinence, constipation, C-section scar pain, and neck and shoulder pain. We will talk about what happens after birth, strategies for lifting your new baby, returning to exercise and sex, and what to expect from your body as it goes through the stages of pregnancy and childbirth.
Lectures will take place at Excellens Physical Therapy
