THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

Opening as part of  NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE SERIES AT CINEMA ART THEATER

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society presents THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME as the next play in the exciting series of National Theatre Live performances. National Theatre Live is a groundbreaking project that presents the best of British theater live from the London stage on film to cinemas across the UK and around the world.

Captured live from the National Theatre in London, this critically acclaimed production, directed by Marianne Elliot (ANGELS IN AMERICA, WAR HORSE), has astonished audiences around the world and has received seven Olivier and five Tony Awards®.

Fifteen year old Christopher stands beside Mrs. Shears’ dead dog which has been speared with a garden fork. It is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world. [2018, UK, Approx. Runtime: 2 hours, 50 minutes, Rated: R].

David Benedict of “Variety” says the production, “achieve[s] a profound emotional impact.” “A beautiful, eloquent show about the wonders of a life that initially seems hopelessly constrained,” writes Henry Hitchings of “The Evening Standard”.

Screenings will be 1:00 pm on Monday, July 9th and 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 10th at the Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa). Admission for National Theatre Live is $18 for RBFS members, $20 general admission and $15 for ages 16 and under. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online.
