An Evening with Delaware Shakespeare

Delaware Shakespeare presents an evening of Shakespeare and Shakespeare-inspired music with singer-songwriter Emily Schuman and members of Delaware Shakespeare’s professional company. Emily will share her music and explanations behind the creations and company members will read and perform text from the original pieces on which this music is based.

Emily Schuman is a Philadelphia-based theatre artist whose work ranges across disciplines as a performer, prop/production designer and musician/singer-songwriter. As a performer, she has worked regionally with such companies as Delaware Shakespeare, Walnut Street Theatre, and Revolution Shakespeare. As a singer/songwriter and musician, she collaborates with companies such as Delaware Shakespeare and Almanac Dance Circus Theatre to create original music scores for live performances. Originally from New York City, Emily majored in Drama at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. She holds a BA in Theater from Denison University and studied Shakespeare in performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, UK. She is a graduate of the Arden Theatre Professional Apprentice Program, is currently an associate artist with Applied Mechanics, and recently served a term as a member of the Artistic Squad at Delaware Shakespeare.
