An Evening at the Hook Lecture Series – Before it was Dover: The Prehistory of Central Delaware- 7:00p.m. – 8:00p.m.
John P. McCarthy, RPA, is a Registered Professional Archaeologist who has been involved in cultural resources management and historic preservation work for nearly 40 years. He has been with Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, State Parks, for the last three years. In this illustrated presentation, John McCarthy, provides an overview of what archaeologists know about the prehistoric peoples who lived in what is now known as central Delaware going back over 10,000 years. He focuses in on the results of archaeological investigations of several sites in the greater Dover area and will have artifacts from sites in the region.
