EVERYBODY KNOWS OPENING AT THE CINEMA ART THEATER

Starting on March 29, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present the newest film by a contemporary master, Academy Award® winner Asghar Farhadi’s (“The Salesman”, “A Separation”) “Everybody Knows”, an intense drama about a family’s frantic search for their missing child, starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

The film follows Laura (Cruz) and her two children as they travel from Argentina to Laura’s home town in Spain for her sister's wedding. Amid the joyful reunion and festivities, her daughter is abducted. In the tense days that follow, various family and community tensions surface and deeply hidden secrets are revealed. [2019, Spain/France/Italy, in Spanish with English subtitles, 132 minutes, Rated: R].

Peter Bradshaw of “The Guardian” sums up the appeal of the film simply, “Farhadi’s storytelling has overpowering force.” “Compulsively absorbing. A jigsaw puzzle of a film,” writes Peter Debruge of “Variety.com”.

Screening times are 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday (Mar 29), 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday (Mar 30), 2:00 pm on Sunday (Mar 31), 2:00 pm on Monday (April 1), 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Wednesday (April 3) and 4:00 pm on Thursday (April 4). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
