Bike to Market Day is this Saturday, June 30. The Market urges everyone who can ride a bike (or walk) to the Market to do so. As in the past, the Market continues its tradition of a free Annual Bike Raffle. This year, the bike the Market is giving away is a Jamis Earth Cruiser 2 in bright lime green! This bike is built to be a lighter-weight cruiser — coming in at just 29 lbs. The cruise-control handlebars were designed to promote a comfortable no-weight-on-the-wrists riding position.  It also has a cushy seat, smooth rolling tires, and no-slip pedals. There is a black basket that can easily be removed to use at the Market, and a bell that rings like an old landline phone to announce arrival. Tickets for the raffle are free, and the winner is drawn on Labor Day Weekend. In order to enter the contest, customers need to fill out a ticket at the HLFM Information Tent. One can enter every Saturday, so Market regulars have a better chance of winning. This beautiful cruiser was purchased locally at Seagreen Bicycle, a local bike shop at 209 Monroe Avenue, Lewes, DE.

Yellow and white peaches, blueberries, cherries, raspberries, first corn of the season, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, lamb, beef, eggs, yogurt, ice cream, artisanal cheeses, and much more can be found at the Market this Saturday.

At 9 am, Jennifer Noonan, the Children’s Librarian at the Lewes Public Library will read If You Plant a Seed by Kadir Nelson. Just under 8,900 children and their adults have come to Children’s Story Time at the Market since this partnership program between the HLFM and the Lewes Public Library began in 2008.

Then, at 10:00 am, Henry Bennett of the Market's own Bennett Orchards, will host a sampling and information session. He will discuss how the Bennett farm produces their mouth-watering peaches and luscious blueberries that market patrons have come to love. Be sure not to miss out on this "berry" informative session!

The HLFM Wednesday Outdoor Market at Crooked Hammock Brewery is also open every Wednesday from 8 to 11 am with an expanded number of vendors. The Market is located at Crooked Hammock Way and Kings Highway in Lewes.

The Market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the Market to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the Market. WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) coupons will also now be accepted at both the Saturday and Wednesday markets.

The Market is open every Saturday from 8 am to noon. Ample parking can be found at the Shields Elementary School and Lewes School Parking lots (intersection of Savannah Road and Sussex Drive), a short walk to the Market. The Market provides a Veggie Valet service to help customers carry bags and melons (when they are in season) back to their cars. This service is located right outside the HLFM Information Tent.

The Market is open rain or shine, but, if it is raining, the Market moves to Shields Elementary School Parking Lot (Savannah Road and Sussex Drive).
