Historic Lewes Farmers Market

October 13th, 2018 - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
The Market Gets All Jazzy Saturday, October 13!

This Saturday, October 13, customers can celebrate the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival at the Market by enjoying the seductive musical notes of Reggie Harris, a well-known jazz saxophonist. Reggie Harris will play throughout the market from 10 am to noon.

The Fall Market is being held at the Richard Shields Elementary School parking lot at the corner of Savannah Road and Sussex Drive in Lewes, and is open from 9 am to noon.

The fall harvest will be in full swing, and favorite market vendors will be there offering all the bounties of fall harvest including baby kale, potatoes, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, winter squashes, apples, cider, mushrooms, lamb, pork, oysters, freshly-laid eggs, breads, jams and jellies, pastries, cheese, milk, yogurt and beautiful flowers for the table.

The Market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the Market to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the Market. In addition to SNAP, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market welcomes participants in Delaware's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. WIC coupons can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the Market. Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) coupons are also welcome. WIC and SFMNP coupons must be used by October 31.

The Market is open this Saturday from 9 am to noon. There’s lots of parking at the Lewes School Parking lot, just off the corner of Savannah Road and Sussex Drive, directly across from the Market.

Customers who want to know what is happening at the Market each Saturday should subscribe to the HLFM newsletter sent to customers on Thursdays. Newsletter is free. To be included, customers may send their email address to [email protected].

Consistent with its mission, the HLFM is committed to supporting farmers who grow local fruits and vegetables -- a “real” farmers market that is producer-only.
