Beebe Healthcare Day at the Market—Health Screenings, Flu and Bivalent Covid Vaccines

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market welcomes the Beebe Healthcare Team to the Market this Saturday, October 22, 9am to 12 pm. The Beebe team brings healthcare screenings, flu vaccinations, and bivalent Covid-19 boosters to the Market. Customers can shop for fresh local food, then get their blood pressure checked, and receive a flu vaccination and Covid booster—all at the Market.

This Saturday, customer can find winter squashes, radishes, baby kale, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, lima beans, lettuces, pears, apples, mushrooms, pork, chicken, beef, live and picked crabs, crabcakes, crab dip, crab soups, oysters, freshly laid eggs, fall soups, breads, cakes, pies, gluten-free breads and desserts, jams and jellies, breakfast pastries, milk, butter, yogurt, honey, kombucha, apple cider, locally roasted coffee and coffee drinks, and beautiful flower bouquets and wreaths.

Customers are reminded the Market is now located at the Lewes Elementary School (LES) parking lot every Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. The market will be at LES through November 19. The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is a producer-only, “where the farmers are” market, and we are open rain or shine.

Entrance for walkers and bikers is the driveway into the school off Savannah Rd. Limited parking is available in the school's bus parking lot off of Sussex Drive–with priority given to handicapped customers–and street parking is available.

The Market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the Market to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the Market. WIC and SFMNP coupons can only be used through October 31.

Customers who want to help feed the local community may purchase local produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to the HLFM Food Pantry Purchase Program every Saturday. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to various food pantries including both Epworth and Casa San Francisco. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.

Dogs at the Market must be under control on a tightly held non-retractable leash.

The Market thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, 2022 HLFM Market Champion, and all other sponsors for their continued support of the Market.
