The Historic Lewes Farmers Market has rescheduled its 10 am demo with Executive Chef Ian Crandall from Kindle and Half Full restaurants in Lewes and Enoch Farms to10 am this Saturday, August 28. Ian will begin with a skewer of Enoch Farms ham, fresh mozzarella, Fifer Orchards figs and finished with a Riesling and hony reduction.  His party pleaser will be a grilled paillard of Enoch Farms pork loin with Fifer Orchards grilled yellow peach salsa.

More figs, lettuces, and apples start appearing at the Market. Still available are plums, gourmet melons, watermelons, cantaloupe, white and yellow peaches, nectarines, okra, sweet local corn, tomatoes, green beans, peppers, romaine lettuces, arugula, eggplant, potatoes, squash, zucchini, jams, eggs, yogurt, milk, butter, ice cream, mushrooms, chicken, pork, beef, crabs, oysters, honey, and much more.

The Market asks customers to purchase food from farmers at the market on Saturdays to help supply the Epworth United Methodist Church Food Pantry. It’s simple--customers may purchase what they want to donate or give a few dollars to the farmer and ask them to choose what to donate. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to Epworth. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.

The HLFM’s Wednesday market at Crooked Hammock Brewery is now open from 8 to 11 am with 11 farmers/producers: 302 Aquaponics, Baywater Farms, Bennett Orchards, Bodine Farms, Dittmar Family Farms, Hattie’s Garden, Jackie Blues, Kalmar Farm, Mandala Pies, Stag Run Farm, and Totem Farms.

Help keep the non-profit Historic Lewes Farmers Market healthy by purchasing raffle tickets at the Saturday market. There are just two more Saturdays to purchase tickets.  There are three great prizes—an Elegant, Private In-Home Dinner for 10, courtesy of Bramble & Brine at the Buttery; a Booze Buggy (wagon full of fine wines and spirits); and Fabu-Lewes Feast--eight $125 gift certificates from the best restaurants in Lewes. Each Grand Prize Raffle is valued at $1,000, and the ticket purchaser can choose which drawing(s) to enter! In addition to the main prize, each drawing will have a Second Prize Basket of local gift cards. Tickets are just $5 each or 6 for $25. There is a Raffle tent at the Market where tickets are sold. Drawing is September 4 at 11 am and the winners do not have to be present at the market. Age limit is 21 to enter the Booze Buggy raffle.

See: Raffle Prizes Detail The Market continues its SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the Market to pick up the bonus $20 in tokens to use at the Market. WIC and SFMNP coupons are also accepted at the Market.
