HISTORY BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

A partnership of the History Book Festival and the Lewes Public Library, this monthly discussion group focuses on books featured at last year's festival and those to be featured at the 2019 Festival. The group is open to all lovers of history and meets at the Library (111 Adams Avenue, Lewes) on the third Wednesday of the month at 2 pm.

This month's selection is Inspector Oldfield and the Black Hand Society by William Oldfield and Victoria Bruce (Simon & Schuster)  The authors will join the discussion by Skype.

The incredible true story of the US Post Office Inspector who took down the deadly Black Hand, a turn-of-the-century Italian-American secret society that preyed on immigrants across America’s industrial heartland—featuring fascinating and never-before-seen documents and photos from the Oldfield family’s private collection.
