JOJO RABBIT Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting on Jan 10, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Jojo Rabbit,” a moving comedy-drama about a little boy in Nazi Germany who has an imaginary friend named Adolf Hitler.

Writer director Taika Waititi brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, a World War II satire that follows a lonely Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (played by Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism. [US, 2019, English, 108 minutes, Rating: Pg-13].

Steph Cozza of “Aggressive Comix” exclaims, “It was so much fun, it was hilarious, it was incredibly clever and witty, and the writing in this film is so delicious.” Adam Graham of “Detroit News” says, “A smart, accessible, inclusive film that opens doors at a time when many are slamming them shut. It's a celebration of the gift of life that's inviting you to dance with it. So dance with it.”

Screening times are 4 pm on Fri (Jan 10) and 7 pm on Sat (Jan 11). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
