Join the Lewes Historical Society for its ongoing Living History in Residence Series, featuring
“Lewes’s Leading Ladies - Suffragettes and Social Reformers”
Travel back a century and join the strong-willed women of Lewes in campaigning for their right to vote. Meet historical interpreters portraying the small-town activists who helped forever changed the fate of women across the nation, experience their stories, and take your place on the picket line.
Exercise the right guaranteed by these fearless reformers by registering to vote at our voter registration table - provided courtesy of the Sussex County League of Women Voters. Craft your own suffragette sashes and picket signs, march in the footsteps of the women who would not be silenced, and interact with the Lewestowners of yesteryear at this interactive historical program by the Lewes Historical Society in association with the Sussex County League of Women Voters.
