The Society’s popular Fall Craft Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23 on the historic Shipcarpenter Street Campus. The public is invited to celebrate the work of talented artisans and enjoy live music, and delectable treats. The Lewesers will perform Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9 am-Noon followed by Kindred Spirits from 1-4 pm.  On Sunday, October 22, the Jazzmen kick off in the morning slot and Ampersand will finish out the day in the afternoon.   The Brimming Horn Brewery’s Hammer and Horns food truck will provide lunch fare and Hopkins Ice Cream will offer sweet treats.  On Sunday, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., there will be a pumpkin painting activity for our younger guests.

Paint a Pumpkin Party: Art Display will be held in the 1898 Midway Schoolhouse (on the grounds of the Historic Shipcarpenter Campus).  There is an admission fee of $5 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. The Paint a Pumpkin Activity is included with Craft Fair admission.  Children will be able to paint a sugar pumpkin to celebrate the harvest season. Parsons Farms is kindly donating the pumpkins.

There will be two age groups for our young artists; groups will be years 6-10 and 11-12.  The artwork will be dived into three categories for judging:  scariest, funniest/cutest, and historic.  The top three Artists in each age group and category will have their artwork on display in the School House throughout the month of October.

Plan to spend the day and enjoy the festive atmosphere of our main campus where our historic buildings will be open to the public. The complex is filled with shade trees and gardens, providing a beautiful setting for your visit.

Your $5 admission includes free access to all LHS properties and museums on October 22, including the Breaking Britannia’s Grasp and Jacob Jones:  Man, Boy, Hero exhibitions. All event fees support the Lewes Historical Society’s efforts to promote and advocate for preservation, education, and cultural enrichment through museum exhibitions, educational programs, historical research, and publications.
