ONCE WERE BROTHERS: ROBBIE ROBERTSON AND THE BAND Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting on Feb 28, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band,” a musical documentary that follows an artist’s young life and creation of one of the most enduring groups in the history of popular music.

The film is a moving story of guitarist/songwriter Robbie Robertson's personal journey, overcoming adversity and finding camaraderie alongside the four other men who would become his brothers in music forming the group “The Band.” They worked together to make their amazing mark on music history. “Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band” blends rare archival footage, photography (137 photographs by Elliot Landy), iconic songs and interviews with many of Robertson's friends and collaborators including Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Martin Scorsese, Peter Gabriel, Taj Mahal, Dominique Robertson, Ronnie Hawkins, and more. Executive Producers include Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard. [2020, USA/CANADA, 100 min, Rated: R].

Edward Havens of “FilmJerk.com” remarks, “This movie, and the band it covers, has affected me. My mind is racing with so many concepts, my heart and my soul overflowing with conflicted emotions.” Staci Layne Wilson of “AtHomeInHollywood.com” exclaims, “An electrifying and edifying music documentary.”

Screening times are 4 pm on Fri (Feb 28), 4 pm and 7 pm on Sat (Feb 29), 1 pm on Sun (Mar 1), 1 pm on Mon (Mar 2), 1 pm and 4 pm on Wed (Mar 4) and 4 pm on Thu (Mar 5).
