PARIS CAN WAIT Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

June 16th, 2017 - 4:00 pm
Starting on June 16th the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present Eleanor Coppola's feature film directorial and screenwriting debut (at the age of 81!) PARIS CAN WAIT, the lightly comedic story of a middle-aged woman’s journey through the south of France with an unexpected partner.

Academy Award® nominee Diane Lane stars as a Hollywood producer's wife who unexpectedly takes a trip through France, reawakening her sense of self and her joie de vivre. Director Eleanor Coppola (wife of Francis, mother of Sofia) fictionalized the film from a personal experience during the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. Anne (Lane) is at a crossroads in her life. Long married to a successfully driven but inattentive movie producer (Alec Baldwin), she finds herself taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with her husband’s business associate (Arnaud Viard). What should be a seven-hour drive turns into a journey of discovery involving fine food and wine, humor, wisdom, and picturesque sights. [2016, USA, Runtime: 92, Rated: PG].

Peter Travers of “Rolling Stone” puts it succinctly, “If you’re longing for a delicious romantic romp to take your mind off the world going to hell in hand basket, PARIS CAN WAIT is it.” Take a visual vacation “that shimmers with so many enticing temptations,” you’ll want to catch the next flight to Cannes.

Please note that during the summer months, films are now screened 7 days a week. Screening times are 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday (June 16 & 17), 4:00 pm on Sunday (June 18), 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday (June 19 & 20), 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Wednesday (June 21), as well as 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Thursday (June 22).
