PICK OF THE LITTER OPENING AT THE CINEMA ART THEATER

Starting on October 12, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present PICK OF THE LITTER, a heartwarming and informative documentary that gives viewers a rare glimpse into the hard work and special character required to become a guide dog for the blind.

PICK OF THE LITTER follows a litter of puppies through an intense two-year odyssey as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm. It’s a rigorous process that will take the pups from the care of selfless foster volunteers to specialized trainers to, if they make the cut, a lifelong human companion. At every step of the way, the puppies will be tested, challenged, and evaluated. Only the best of the best will be chosen for the job of guide dog—who has what it takes? Introducing viewers to an unforgettable cast of canine personalities and the dedicated individuals who work with them, PICK OF THE LITTER is an uplifting, bighearted celebration of the unique bond between humans and dogs. [2018, US, Runtime: 81 minutes, Not Rated].

“A complete delight, a much-needed balm for the soul,” writes Kate Walsh of “The Los Angeles Times”. Moira Macdonald of “The Seattle Times” says the film, “reveals something deeply moving, between the cute-puppy moments: the bond between dogs and their humans, and the everyday miracle the trained dogs bring.”

Screening times are 4:00 pm on Friday (Oct 12), 7:15 pm on Saturday (Oct 13), 1:30 pm on Sunday (Oct 14), 7:00 pm on Wednesday (Oct 17). Admission for CAT: THIS WEEK films is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
