RBFS’s Cinema Art Theater will present LAND OF MINE

April 7th, 2017 - 7:00 pm
Starting on April 7, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present LAND OF MINE, a tight and suspenseful film.

As World War Two comes to an end, a group of German POWs, boys rather than men, are captured by the Danish army and forced to engage in a deadly task – to defuse and clear land mines from the Danish coastline. With little or no training, the boys soon discover that the war is far from over. Inspired by real events, LAND OF MINE exposes the untold story of one tragic moment in post-war history.

Written and directed by Martin Zandvliet, the film has won numerous awards, including Best Film, at several European film festivals. Stephen Farber of “The Hollywood Reporter” states "Director Martin Zandvliet has come up with a fresh and compelling approach to this well-traveled territory" and David D'Arcy of “Screendaily” says LAND OF MINE achieves moments of chilling suspense…” Domestically it received 5 out of 6 stars from a number of critics, who all stated it was the best Danish film of the year.

Screening times are 7:00 pm on Friday (April 7), 4:00 pm on Saturday (April 8), 4:00 pm on Sunday (April 9), 7:00 pm on Wednesday (April 12) and 4:00 pm on Thursday (April 13). Tickets can be purchased at the Cinema Art Theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening. Admission for a screening is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for future members. All screenings are held at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes Wawa.
