ON THE ROCKS Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

October 9th, 2020 - 4:00 pm

Starting on October 9, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “On the Rocks,” a witty adventure comedy that follows a father and daughter as they track her suspicious spouse. A young mother (played by Rashida Jones) faced with sudden doubts about her marriage teams up with her larger-than-life playboy father (played by Bill Murray) to tail her husband (played by Marlan Wayans). What follows is a sparkling comic adventure across the city - drawing father and daughter closer together despite one detour after another.  Acclaimed filmmaker Sofia Coppola brings a light touch to this blend of an exuberant love letter to New York, a generation-clash comedy about how we see relationships differently from our parents, and a funny celebration of the complications that bind modern families even as they tie us in crazy knots.  [2020, US, 96 min, Rated: R].

Alci Rengifo of “Entertainment Voice” pens “This is a wonderful film about how the biggest dramas in our lives can come from the most common relations and moments.” Adam Graham of the “Detroit News” says, “Like a strong drink, it sneaks up on you.”

Screening times are 4 pm & 7 pm on Fri (Oct 9), 7 pm on Sat (Oct 10), 4:30 pm on Sun (Oct 11), 6 pm on Wed (Oct 14) and 3 pm on Thu (Oct 15). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
