THE SALESMAN opening at the Cinema Art Theater

March 10th, 2017 - 4:00 pm
THE SALESMAN opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting on March 10, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present THE SALESMAN, a suspenseful drama.

Forced to leave their collapsing flat, Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti), an Iranian couple who happen to be performers rehearsing for Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman”, rent a new apartment from one of their fellow performers. However, once relocated, a sudden eruption of violence linked to the previous tenant of their new home dramatically changes the couple’s life, creating a simmering tension between husband and wife. [2017, Iran/France, Runtime: 125 min, Rated PG-13]

Colin Covert of the “Minneapolis Star Tribune” claims that “It is by any measure a great film, a quiet, yet overwhelmingly intense production that forces us to recalibrate our notion of what suspenseful cinema can mean and do.” THE SALESMAN was Iran’s submission for the 2017 Academy Awards® and it won the Best Foreign Language Film.

Screening times are 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday (March 10 & 11), 4:00 pm on Sunday (March 12), 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Wednesday (March 15) and 4:00 pm on Thursday (March 16). Tickets can be purchased at the Cinema Art Theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening. Admission for a screening is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for future members. All screenings are held at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes Wawa.
