Speaker Series: "History Of The Lewes Fire Department"

Join speaker Bob Burdick for a discussion on the history of the Lewes Fire Department, on Friday, January 20, at 7:30pm at the Lewes Public Library at 111 Adams Avenue, Lewes, Delaware 19958.  Admission is free and no reservations are required. For more information, call 302-645-7670.
 
Presentation Description:
This program outlines the history of fire service in Delaware and early history of the Lewes Fire Department.  Highlights of major fires and storms through the years will be shown, and the audience will learn about how the department has grown and developed over time.  Fire prevention education is an important element of the Lewes Fire Department, with the annual fire prevention programs presented each year to the youth of the community. This program was developed by the department’s Community Outreach Committee.
 
Speaker Bio:
Bob Ruddick joined the Lewes Fire Department as a member of the fire police unit in February 2011, following his retirement from Schneider National Trucking Company.  Bob has been active as a fire police officer, both in Lewes and at the county level, having just finished a term as President of the Sussex County Fire Police Association.  Bob serves as co-chair of the Fire Prevention Committee and is the chairman of the Community Outreach Committee.
