TRIANGLE OF SADNESS Opening at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes
Opening October 28, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater presents Triangle of Sadness, a breathlessly entertaining comedy that follows a celebrity model couple exploring their relationship when their life is upended.
In Director Ruben Östlund’s wickedly funny Palme d’Or winner, social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson). What first appeared Instagram worthy ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival. [2022, France, 145 min, Rating: R]
Christopher Llewellyn Reed of Film Festival Toady says, “Expect much mayhem and let the good times roll.” Mike McGranaghan of Aisle Seat claims, “Triangle of Sadness is social satire of the highest order.”
