UNCUT GEMS Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting on Dec 20, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Uncut Gems,” an electrifying crime thriller about a man addicted to gambling and his attempts to pay down his huge debt by placing increasingly risky bets.
A charismatic New York City jeweler Howard Ratner (played by Adam Sandler) always on the lookout for the next big score, makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime. Howard must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win. Sandler is receiving lots of Oscar buzz for his over the top performance. [US, 2019, English, 135 minutes, Rating: R].

Justin Jones of “CBR” comments, “Easily among the year's best movies. Instantly engaging, it's a masterfully crafted run across the edge of a blade that never lets up.” Carla Renata of “The Curvy Film Critic” states, “This film provides Adam Sandler with the performance of a lifetime coupled with anxiety, stress driven spot on filmmaking by Benny and Josh Safdie.”
Screening times are 4 pm and 7 pm on Thu (Dec 26), 4, 6 & 7 pm (Dec 27), 3, 4 & 7 pm (Dec 28), 1 & 4:15 pm (Dec 29), 1 & 4:15 (Dec 30), 1 & 4:15 (Dec 31) and 4 & 7 pm (Jan 2). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
