WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH Opening at the RBFS Cinema Art Theater

January 12th, 2018 - 7:00 pm
WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH:  OPENING AT THE CINEMA ART THEATER

Starting on January 12th the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH, a documentary about the actress, singer and entertainer Rose Marie, who was a fixture on American stage and screen for ninety years.

WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH tells the story of what was the longest active career in entertainment. Far more than just Sally Rogers on THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, and the top center square on HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, Rose Marie worked in every facet of showbiz. She was “the darling of the airwaves” at the age of four and went on to work in vaudeville, Vegas, Broadway, movies, television, theatre, concert halls, and nightclubs. She called Al Capone, Uncle Al; opened the Flamingo in Las Vegas for Bugsy Siegel; and had her career protected and nurtured by “the boys.”  Her friends included the best show business had to offer, Peter Marshall, Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, and Tim Conway among them. WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH is a love-letter to a true trailblazer of American entertainment. [2017, US, Runtime: 85 minutes, Not Rated].

Dennis Harvey of “Variety.com” calls WAIT FOR YOUR LAUGH, “as lively and likable as its subject.” Walter Addiego of “The San Francisco Chronicle” writes, “A well-deserved and most enjoyable tribute to a great entertainer of the old school.”

Screening times are 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Friday (Jan 12), 7:00 pm on Saturday (Jan 13), 3:30 pm on Sunday (Jan 14), 1:00 pm on Monday (Jan 15), 4:00 pm on Wednesday (Jan 17) and 4:00 pm on Thursday (Jan 18). Tickets can be purchased at the Cinema Art Theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening. Admission for a screening is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for future members. All screenings are held at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes Wawa.
