A WELL-STRUNG CHRISTMAS brought to Rehoboth by Clear Space

November 19th, 2017 - 7:00 pm

Looking for the perfect kick-off to the holiday season?  Look no further than Rehoboth’s own Clear Space Theatre!  On Sunday, November 19, at 7:00 PM, Clear Space will host Well-Strung, the New York City-based singing string quartet, as the group brings A WELL-STRUNG CHRISTMAS to Rehoboth Beach!

The show, developed by Well-Strung producer Mark Cortale and director Richard Jay-Alexander, features the quartet’s unique pop-classical spin on holiday music that ranges from traditional holiday favorites like “Silent Night” and “Sleigh Ride,” to Dolly’s Parton’s “Hard Candy Christmas.”  The New York Times has described the group’s unique blend of vocals and strings as “…brilliantly fused pop and classical music.”  Don’t miss the beautiful – and beautifully entertaining -- results when Well-Strung brings that same inimitable style to its holiday mash-ups!

Wesley Paulson, Clear Space Theatre’s Executive Director, is excited about the group’s return to Rehoboth.  “At the end of their Clear Space performance in August, one of the members of Well-strung mentioned they have a holiday show. Given the success of the August concerts, the idea of hosting a return performance was already on my mind, and booking for the holiday show was arranged. I am delighted that Clear Space can host Well-Strung for the Rehoboth premier of A WELL-STRUNG CHRISTMAS, sponsored by our friends at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center.”

The foursome includes Edmund Bagnell (first violin), Christopher Marchant (second violin), Daniel Shevlin (cello) and Trevor Wadleigh (viola).  The group was conceived by producer Mark Cortale and Christ Marchant. Their eclectic appeal has garnered invitations to perform at the Vatican, the House of Blues in New Orleans and a gala for then-President Obama. They have performed with equally widely-ranging artists, including Neil Patrick Harris, Audra McDonald, the San Francisco and New York City Gay Men’s Choruses, and Joe Jonas.

Tickets for the November 19 concerts range from $35 to $100, and are available online at www.clearspacetheatre.org or by calling the box office at 302-224-2270.
