Fires of Revolution (A Living History Event)

November 11th, 2023 - 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Fires of Revolution
On November 11th, join us at the LHS Historic Shipcarpenter Street Campus from 5:00-7:30 p.m. for Fires of Revolution! Our world looks very different after dark than it did in 18th-century America, especially as their nights were lit with the fires of revolution.  Experience the nighttime world known by the residents of Lewistown on the eve of Revolution.  Rest by the blazing bonfire, warm your spirit at Sussex Tavern listening to the music of Forbes Road Frolic, or with a beverage at the brand-new Lewistown Coffee-house. Immerse yourself in the turbulent days when Delawarean subjects of the British king began to think of themselves as Americans.  As unrest brews, and rumors spread through the streets, listen to stories beneath a lantern-lit Liberty Tree, and experience the ultimate act of colonial-era “non-violent” protest in the form of a burning effigy.

Admission to this premiere living history event is $10.00 and includes a free beverage from either Sussex Tavern or Lewistown Coffee-house.
