National Theater Live Series at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes presents KING LEAR
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is pleased to present the 2023 National Theatre Live series at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes. National Theatre Live presents fabulous plays from London’s West End and this season will feature plays filmed during a live Theatre audience and optimized for the cinema screen -- our Main Theater (seats 104). The series plays on Wednesday’s (1 pm matinee) and Saturday’s (4 pm) with classic plays reincarnated by today’s A-list actors. Considered by many to be the greatest tragedy ever written, King Lear sees two ageing fathers – one a king, one his courtier – reject the children who truly love them. Their blindness unleashes a tornado of pitiless ambition and treachery, as family and state are plunged into a violent power struggle with bitter ends.
