The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is pleased to present the 2023 National Theatre Live series at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes. National Theatre Live presents fabulous plays from London’s West End and this season will feature plays filmed during a live Theatre audience and optimized for the cinema screen -- our Main Theater (seats 104). The series plays on Wednesday’s (1 pm matinee) and Saturday’s (4 pm) with classic plays reincarnated by today’s A-list actors.
Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s (Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller) bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal. [2011, UK, 227 min]
