Smoking Causes Coughing - Opening at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes
Opening April 21, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater presents Smoking Causes Coughing, a wildly entertaining comedy that follows the misadventures of five members of the Tobacco Force.
After a group of low-rent superheroes defeat a giant turtle in the desert, their leader (a puppet rat) sends them on a week-long retreat to rebuild their team spirit, before they can return to save the world. [2022, France, 80 min, Rating :NR]
Josh Kupecki of The Movie Sleuth writes, “The cast is uniformly excellent and delivers enthusiastic performances, even the ones played by puppets, and the pacing is lively and not at all boring.”
Screening times are 1 pm on Fri (April 21), 4 pm on Sun (Apr 23) and 5 pm on Wed (Apr 26). Admission is $9 for members, $11.50 for general audiences and $5 for students.
