WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS? Opening at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes

Opening April 5, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater presents What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears?, a compelling documentary that unravels the details of an extraordinary year in the life of this popular 1970’s band.

Blood, Sweat & Tears, known for hits such as Spinning Wheel and You've Made Me So Very Happy, headlined the legendary Woodstock Festival and won multiple Grammy Awards, most notably 1970's win for Album Of The Year, besting The Beatles' Abbey Road and Johnny Cash at San Quentin. This is the incredible never-before-told story about a top rock band that was unknowingly embroiled in a political rat’s nest involving the U.S. State Department durng the Nixon White House with their controversial concert tour of Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland, countries behind what was then known as the Iron Curtain. As a result, they found themselves in the crossfire of a polarized America, as divided then as it is now. [2022, US, 112 min, Rating: NR]

Owen Gleiberman of Variety pens, “A singular piece of rock history, even if hardly anyone knows about it. I didn’t know about it, but now that I’ve seen the film I’d call it essential.”

Screening times are 1 pm on Wed (Apr 5) and 6 pm on Thu (Apr 6). Admission is $9 for members, $11.50 for general audiences and $5 for students. Purchase advance tickets online at rehobothfilm.com or at the Cinema Art Theater box office in Lewes beginning 30 minutes prior to the screening.
