The Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau sponsors its 26th annual Lewes Garden Tour on Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are eight private gardens on the tour this year - five “in town” Lewes and three on Lewes Beach. Tickets will be available for sale on Friday, May 27 and will include a description of each garden. The gardens are selected by the event committee chair with assistance from other members of the committee. This year’s chair is Linda Davison who is serving in her first year as head of the committee. She is the immediate past co-chair of Lewes in Bloom and was on the 25th Garden Tour planning committee last year.
In addition to touring the gardens, the event includes a Garden Market where more than 40 vendors are located, selling garden related items during the hours of the tour (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.); Cape Artists will be in the tour gardens painting and tour-goers can enjoy beverages and lunch provided by Café Amici in the Refreshment tent in Zwaanendael Park. During the hours of the tour, free shuttle service is available for ticket holders. Chamber members Lewes Senior Center, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty and the Jolly Trolley will provide the shuttle services.
Advance tickets for the tour of gardens on Saturday are $20 and $25 on the day of the tour. The tickets are the program booklet describing the gardens and will go on sale Memorial Day weekend at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce visitor center in the Fisher-Martin House located in Zwaanendael Park next to the Zwaanendael Museum.
