Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to start your own business? Do you have an entrepreneurial idea but need assistance to make it happen? Do you know the steps to properly form your business?
Registration is now open for the Delaware Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) free “How to Start a Business” workshop, set for Wednesday, February 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the SBDC office, 103 W. Pine Street in Georgetown. Although the program is free, space is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants will receive a free “How to Start a Business” outline. Following the workshop, participants can register for free one-on-one business advising.
Workshop topics will include:
Exploring whether “this” business is the right one to start;
Risks involved in starting a business;
Four types of business structures;
Why business plans are imperative;
Why market research is necessary;
Developing a business timeline; and
What it takes to obtain a business loan.
“We want to help make entrepreneurs’ vision become a reality by working with them before they open their doors,” Mr. Root said. “The Delaware Small Business Development Center has worked with hundreds of businesses, and we can guide start-ups in the right direction before critical missteps occur.”
