Places to Visit

Whether it's your first visit or one of many, Lewes offers a variety of places to visit. For those who love the water, in addition to the bay & ocean beaches and fishing & charter boats, there are boat excursions including a water taxi offering eco-tours and sunset cruises, tours to the two lighthouses at the mouth of the bay and seasonally, a visit from Delaware's tall ship, the Kalmar Nyckel, and dragon boat festival on the canal. For history buffs, the Lewes Historical Society, the Zwaanendael Museum and the WWII museum at Ft. Miles in Cape Henlopen State Park offer a variety of exhibits and tours year-round. Tours of Nassau Valley Vineyard and nearby Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Lavender Fields Farm and Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge are also popular with our visitors. Our award-winning Farmers Market on Saturdays is the place to be! Lewes is home to many accomplished artisans with studios and galleries with changing exhibits. So much to do...
