APOLLO 11 opening at the Cinema Art Theater

March 22nd, 2019 - 1:00 pm

APOLLO 11 OPENING AT THE CINEMA ART THEATER

Starting on March 22, come to the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater to see one of the greatest events in human history like you’ve never seen it before in the breathtaking documentary “Apollo 11”.

From director Todd Douglas Miller (“Dinosaur 13”) comes a cinematic event fifty years in the making. Crafted from a newly discovered trove of 65mm footage, and more than 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio recordings, “Apollo 11” takes us straight to the heart of NASA’s most celebrated mission—the one that first put men on the moon, and forever made Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin into household names. Immersed in the perspectives of the astronauts, the team in Mission Control, and the millions of spectators on the ground, we vividly experience those momentous days and hours in 1969 when humankind took a giant leap into the future. [2019, US, 93 minutes, Rated: G].

Matt Zoller Seitz of “RogerEbert.com” puts the film in a category all by itself: “’Apollo 11’ isn't like other documentaries about the first moon mission. In fact, it isn't like most other movies, period. It's magnificent and unique, an adrenaline shot of wonder and skill.” “Entirely awe-inspiring,” adds Glenn Kenny of “The New York Times.”

Screening times are 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday (Mar 22), 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday (Mar 23), 3:00 pm on Sunday (Mar 24), 2:00 pm on Monday (Mar 25), 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Wednesday (Mar 27) and 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Thursday (Mar 28). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
