To connect you and your family with nature, many activities, programs, and special events are planned this year. But remember that anytime is a good time to visit the Refuge, which is open every day from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset in designated areas! Thursday, June 15 - An Evening at the Hook Lecture Series – Dragonflies and Damselflies - 7:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Hal White is a retired professor of Biochemestry at the University of Delaware. Hal has published numerous professional articles on dragonflies and damselflies, as well as a published a book on them in cooperation with the University of Delaware Press and the Delaware Nature Society. He will discuss the effects of habitat alterations on dragonflies and damselflies in Delaware. He will also discuss how human activities have affected the wetland habitats on the Delmarva Peninsula, the consequences of habitat alterations, and much more.
