FRANKIE Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

December 6th, 2019 - 3:00 pm

FRANKIE Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

Starting on Dec 6, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Frankie,” a drama, featuring a stellar cast, about a family grappling with a life-changing experience during one day of vacation in a beautiful historic town.

Unfolding over the course of a late summer's day in the fabled resort town of Sintra, Portugal, “Frankie” follows three generations who have gathered for a vacation organized by the family matriarch (Isabelle Huppert). In this fairy tale setting, husbands and wives, parents and children, friends and lovers - stirred by their romantic impulses - discover the cracks between them, as well as unexpected depth of feeling. [US, 2019, 98 minutes, Rating: PG-13].

Alan NG of “Film Threat” remarks, “What it has is a warm heart, a pace that flows like the tides and an ensemble cast that shines from top to bottom. It's a rare treat to see Huppert and Tomei share the screen.” Tim Appelo of “AARP Movies for Grownups” exclaims, “It often is thrilling, thanks to the mystery and magnetism of the tiny, titanic actress it's built around and the stupefying beauty of its setting.”

Screening times are 3 pm on Fri (Dec 6), 1:15 pm and 6:00 pm on Sat (Dec 7), 3:15 pm on Sun (Dec 8), 1:30 pm on Mon (Dec 9), 4:00 pm on Tue (Dec 10), 4:30 pm on Wed (Dec 11) and 6:00 pm on Thu (Dec 12). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
