Hello, Friends!

What's Fresh on June 27, 2020
This Saturday, you will find all kinds of tomatoes--heirloom, slicing, and cherry, summer squashes and zucchini, Shishito peppers, fresh blue crabs, garlic bulbs, blueberries, strawberries, red and white new potatoes, celery, radishes, cabbage, salad turnips, red and green Romaine, Swiss chard, carrots, kale, kohlrabi, collard greens, mushrooms, croissants, baguettes, scones, pies, quiches, milk, butter, fresh roasted coffee-beans and ground, eggs, chicken, CBD oils and bath salts made from organically-grown hemp, and much more. Please see bottom of this letter for information on parking, using SNAP at the market, and Covid-19 rules. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Please-No Food Consumption Within the Market
We know that there's lots of great baked goods and other prepared foods at the Market. However, the Delaware Department of Agriculture has a rule that there can be no prepared food consumption within farmers markets at this time. Please eat them outside the Market.

Market Volunteers Needed
The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is a non-profit, almost totally run by volunteers. We could really use some additional help at the Market this season. There are two shifts for volunteers, so you only have to commit to a two-hour period. If you are interested, please contact us: [email protected].

Epworth Food Pantry
Members of our community need to have more access to fresh local food, and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) is partnering with Epworth United Methodist Church to help with their food pantry. Here's how you can participate in this very worthwhile program. You may either pre-order or come to the Market and tell the vendor what you want to purchase to donate to the Epworth program that day. You might consider leaving it up to the vendor, and just say you would like to donate $5, $10, $25 or whatever amount of produce and other foods, and let the Vendor put together a box. At the end of the Market, the produce will be gathered and given to the Epworth Food Pantry. It's a challenging time for lots of our friends, and this is a good way to get nutritious food to more members of our community. We thank you for your generosity, and if you have any questions, please contact us: [email protected].
