RBFS Comedy Tuesdays presents THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT

February 7th, 2017 - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present Comedy Tuesdays during the month of February. Lighten up a dreary winter day by watching films that will tickle your funny bone and make you smile all week. Screenings will be held at 2:00 pm at the Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive, #2, Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa).

This winter series will kick off with the irreverent satire, THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT on Tuesday, February 7 at 2:00 pm.

THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT puts a droll and original spin on the Christian story of creation. It starts with the premise that God exists and he’s a jerk. He lives in a high rise apartment in Brussels and never gets out of his pajamas. He takes sadistic delight in dreaming up new laws to torment humankind and he’s a tyrant to his wife and 10-year-old daughter, Ea. One night, Ea’s had enough of her father’s abuse and she hacks into his computer leaking to the entire world – by text message – their inevitable death date. Escaping with her father in hot pursuit, Ea begins a world-saving-mission to write her own New Testament and fix the mess her father has made of humanity. Witty and eccentric, the film asks the question, what would you do if you knew exactly how much time you had left? [2015, Belgium, Runtime: 112 minutes, In French and German with subtitles, Not Rated]

Winner of numerous audience awards at film festivals worldwide, THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT is a best Foreign Language Film nominee for the 2016 Golden Globes®. A “New York Times” Critics’ Pick, Stephen Holden called it,
“Wickedly amusing! A surreal comedy whose endless visual imagination matches its conceptual wit.”

All Comedy Tuesday screenings will be held at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa). Admission for this event is $8.00. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rehobothfilm.com or by calling 302-645-9095 ext.1. Please note that tickets are non-refundable. Any available tickets will be sold at the door.
