LOVING opening at the Cinema Art Theater
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater presents LOVING, a historical drama that reveals a fight for the right to marry. From acclaimed writer/director Jeff Nichols, LOVING celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, Oscar® nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court. Their love story has become an inspiration to couples ever since. [2016, UK/USA, Runtime: 123 min, Rated: PG-13]
Calvin Wilson of the “St. Louis Post-Dispatch” describes LOVING as “A beautiful film about daring to love, without fear or compromise”. Joel Edgerton was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion-Picture-Drama.
Screening times are 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday (January 27-28), 3:00 pm on Sunday (January 29), 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday (February 1-2). Tickets can be purchased at the Cinema Art Theater, starting 30 minutes prior to each screening. Admission for a screening is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for future members. All screenings are held at the Cinema Art Theater located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes Wawa.
