THE RIDER Opening at the Cinema Art Theater

June 15th, 2018 - 4:00 pm
THE RIDER  at the CINEMA ART THEATER

Starting on June 15th, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present THE RIDER, a powerful drama about a young man searching for his identity when he can no longer do what he loves.

After a tragic riding accident, young cowboy Brady (Brady Jandreau), once a rising star of the rodeo circuit, is warned that his competition days are over. Back home, Brady finds himself wondering what he has to live for when he can no longer do what gives him a sense of purpose: to ride and compete. In an attempt to regain control of his fate, Brady undertakes a search for new identity and tries to redefine his idea of what it means to be a man in the heartland of America. [2018, US, Runtime: 104 minutes, Rated: R].

“Subtle, elemental and powerfully beautiful, writer-director Chloe Zhao’s THE RIDER is the Western of the new century, and the most enveloping film experience I’ve had this year,” writes Michael Phillips of “The Chicago Tribune”. Bilge Ebiri of “The Village Voice” calls THE RIDER, “astonishingly powerful”.

Screening times are 4:00 pm on Friday (June 15), 7:00 pm on Saturday (June 16), 4:00 pm on Sunday (June 17), 1:00 pm on Monday (June 18), 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Wednesday (June 20) and 4:00 pm on Thursday (June 21). Admission for CAT: THIS WEEK films is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online.
