A SPECIAL SCREENING OF TRUE CONVICTION
On Tuesday, April 23 at 6:00 PM, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will participate in the Rehoboth Reads program by hosting a special screening of the documentary “True Conviction.” The subject matter of the film complements the book selected for the Rehoboth Reads program, Bryan Stevenson’s “Just Mercy.”
“True Conviction” follows three exonerated men with decades in prison between them who start a detective agency to free other innocent people still behind bars. As the drama unfolds, we are given privileged access and insight not only into the personal lives and struggles of the detectives, but also to the difficulties they face in the pursuit of justice. “True Conviction” is an incredible portrait of those who are able to overcome their past, and use the knowledge and lessons from the journey to effect real change. [2017, USA, Runtime: 84 minutes]
Rehoboth Reads grew from the concept started by the Washington Center for the Book: people coming together through the reading and discussion of a common book. Rehoboth Reads’ mission is to use literature and the arts to promote a sense of community through shared purpose and experience, while encouraging engagement and education.
Admission is $10. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater, starting at 5:30 pm.
