Taking a Stand Lecture Series: Mel Urofsky | Why Justice Brandeis Matters Today
Professor Melvin Urofsky will focus on how Justice Louis Brandeis (1856-1941) helped to usher in progressive tradition in law and government and how that tradition fares today.
Melvin Urofsky is a professor emeritus of history at Virginia Commonwealth University and was the chair of its history department. He is the co-editor of the five-volume collection of Louis Brandeis’s letters. He also is the author of American Zionism from Herzl to the Holocaust, as well as the author of the definitive and highly acclaimed biography Louis D. Brandeis: A Life.
Browseabout Books will have copies of the Brandeis biography available for sale at the event and there will be a signing afterwards.
